The role of the Safety Advisory Group

The role of the Rugby Borough Council Safety Advisory Group (SAG) is to promote good standards of safety at all public events in the borough.
 
The objectives of the group are to:
  • promote high levels of safety and welfare at events by giving advice
  • promote good practice in safety and welfare planning for events
  • ensure events cause minimal adverse impact

The Rugby Borough Council SAG is administered by the borough council. Core members of the group include officers from the borough council's environmental health and licensing teams, along with emergency planning officers. The West Midland Ambulance Association, Warwickshire Police, the Hospital of St Cross, Warwickshire county highways and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue are also represented.

Please note, it can take up to six weeks to process a road closure application and up to eight weeks to process a licensing application.

We'll need all of the relevant event documentation at least 30 days before the event.
