Brick by Brick brings LEGO® art from across the world to Rugby Art Gallery and Museum
Brick by Brick, a touring exhibition from the 20-21 Visual Arts Centre, brings together the work of 18 artists, designers and photographers who create stunning, thought-provoking and often humorous pieces from LEGO®.
The exhibition includes works by Toronto-based Ekow Nimako, who works exclusively with black LEGO® bricks to create sculptures exploring mythology, afrofuturism and West African proverbs.
The Little Artists, a collaboration between John Cake and Darren Neave, replicate famous art works in LEGO®, including pieces by Damian Hirst, Rachel Whiteread, and Jack and Dinos Chapman, while Brazilian photographer Valentino Fialdini creates miniature architectural interiors which, through innovative photography and lighting techniques, appear life-sized to the viewer's eye.
Belfast-based David Turner explores a childhood growing up in Northern Ireland during The Troubles with his LEGO® firearms installation, which consists of 19 replica guns, and Eat My Bricks, a collaboration between German artists Michael Feindura and Soren Grochau, use LEGO® minifigures to create large, humorous photographs, often with a social or political message.
The exhibition also includes four new works by internationally-renowned artist Michael Brennand-Wood, who uses a range of colours, shapes and sizes of LEGO® bricks to make mesmerising abstract montages.
Brick by Brick runs at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum from Saturday 27 November to Saturday 22 January.
Visitors to the exhibition can also take part in a range of activities, including a LEGO® graffiti wall, build tables and a selection of LEGO® related games and competitions, while the Rugby Visitor Centre shop has a host of LEGO® merchandise on sale.

Rugby Art Gallery and Museum opens on Sundays from 28 November to 19 December, with evening opening on Thursday 9 December.
