Council serves notice on illegal camps
Unauthorised encampments at Dunchurch Heath and at Brownsover have been given notice to move on following swift action from Rugby Borough Council’s community wardens.

The encampments, which moved onto borough council land late yesterday (Sunday 7 July), will have to demonstrate a need to stay, move or face arrest under the terms of an injunction obtained by the borough council last year.
Cllr Howard Roberts, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for environment and public realm, said: “Unauthorised encampments often cause distress to residents and can take a lot of time and money to clean up.
We will carry out health and wellbeing checks on everyone involved, and if all is well we will be able to move these encampments on without having to revisit the courts.
“I would like to thank the council’s enforcement officers for acting quickly in addressing these camps at Dunchurch and Brownsover.”
