The council has published a draft masterplan for the refurbishment of the play area in Glaramara Close and now wants feedback from residents before pushing ahead with the plans.

The masterplan was drawn up following a public consultation earlier this year. The council plans to install a host of new play equipment, including an expanded embankment slide, basket swing, a range of swing seats, wheelchair-friendly roundabout, trampoline, and a climbing frame with bridge and slide.

In addition to play equipment, the plans include resurfacing tarmac paving, installing new rubber safer surfacing, a new seat and litter bin, and the planting of native trees.

Residents can now have a say on the masterplan online at www.rugby.gov.uk/glaramara

Cllr Howard Roberts, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for leisure and wellbeing, said: "The feedback we received from residents during the first public consultation has helped us draw up a masterplan for the refurbishment, so now we want to hear the views of residents before finalising the plan and pushing ahead with the project.

"We know residents have been asking for a refurbishment of the play area for some time and we hope to start work on the revamp in the autumn."

The masterplan consultation closes on at 5pm on Wednesday 11 August.
