Pubs, restaurants and cafes are invited to attend an online seminar to help them prepare to reopen from Monday, 12 April, in line with the government roadmap.

The seminar will provide Rugby-based hospitality businesses with an update on the current Covid-19 situation in the borough and the rules on outdoor provision of food and drink, while also offering practical pointers on topics such as setting up test and trace.

Panellists at the event will include representatives from Rugby Borough Council’s commercial regulation, licensing, and community safety teams, Warwickshire Police and Rugby First, with others to be confirmed.

The webinar will be held at 2pm on Friday 9 April.

Henry Biddington, Principal Environmental Health Officer at Rugby Borough Council, said: “All through this pandemic Rugby’s businesses have made sure that they have done the right thing. I know that they will want to make sure that when they reopen they do so safely.

“We all want to make sure that we don’t have to go back into another lockdown so this seminar will help businesses understand the rules, give tips on how they can make sure they have reduced the risk of transmission on their premises, and also help them understand how we will operate as regulators.

“I would encourage all hospitality businesses intending to reopen next week to attend and make sure they are well prepared and ready to go.”
