RUGBY Borough Council has congratulated A-Level students in Rugby who have today (Thursday) received their results, while calling on them to be good citizens when celebrating.
Successful students are being asked not to use barbecues or light fires in public open spaces, to tidy up their rubbish, and to consider neighbouring properties when playing music.
Henry Biddington, Rugby Borough Council Environmental Health and Community Safety Manager, said: “A-Levels are some of the hardest examinations that students will ever have to do. They are a culmination of many years of hard work, and I congratulate all students on their results.
“Each year we have to clean up some of our open spaces after students gather in them to celebrate. We want them to have fun, but we are also asking that they tidy up after themselves and respect their neighbours.
We want results day to be memorable for all the right reasons.”
Rugby Borough Council has arranged for their Community Wardens to patrol hot spots on results day to provide reassurance, provide bin bags and check on the welfare of celebrating students to ensure everyone stays safe and well.
