Cllr Tom Mahoney welcomed the dignitaries at the Town Hall on Friday (24 August) before the guests were taken on a guided tour of the town centre's historic buildings and landmarks by the Rugby Town Guides.
The tour included stops at the statues commemorating William Webb Ellis, Sir Frank Whittle and Rupert Brooke, and took in St Andrew's Church, Rugby School and the Clock Tower before ending with a visit to the World Rugby Hall of Fame and Rugby Art Gallery and Museum.
The dignitaries were then treated to light refreshments courtesy of the Art Gallery and Museum's Maia Cafe.
Cllr Mahoney said: "Rugby has a rich heritage well beyond its historical status as the birthplace of the game, and the tour was a great way of showcasing all the town has to offer.
"It was a pleasure to welcome so many fellow mayors and council chairman to Rugby and promote the town as a tourist destination."
Rugby Town Guides conduct free tours of the town centre every Wednesday and Saturday from March to November.
Tours start at Rugby Visitor Centre at 11am on Wednesdays and 2pm on Saturdays.
