We empty recycling and rubbish bins from most homes on alternate weeks. The collection cycle normally changes at Christmas and New Year, but carries on as usual on all other public and Bank Holidays.
Bins should be placed at the edge of your property next to the highway, with the handle facing the street, by 7.30am on the day it is due to be emptied.
We empty black bin and blue-lid bins on alternate weeks. If you subscribe to our garden waste collection service, we empty your green garden waste bin every other week, with a short break at Christmas and New Year.
We have other arrangements for emptying communal bins and bins at flats.
We collect bins between 7.30am and 3.30pm. Bins must be placed for collection at the back of the footpath outside your home.
Only report a missed bin collection after 3.30pm (and within two days of its due collection date).
IMPORTANT- we provide each household with one black refuse bin* and a maximum of two blue-lid recycling bins.
For green garden waste bins, you must subscribe to our garden waste collection service.
*we can only provide a second black refuse bin to a household for medical reasons (e.g. a disability or incontinence). Medical proof from a GP or hospital must be provided when you request a second black refuse bin for a medical reason.
In certain circumstances, we can provide a second black refuse bin for houses in multiple occupation (HMOs).
