Hundreds have fun on National Play Day
HUNDREDS of children descended on Whitehall Recreation Ground to join in the fun on National Play Day.

The event was organised by Rugby Borough Council's Play Rangers, and
included a host of fun and games to keep youngsters entertained.
Activities on offer on Wednesday 6 August included a climbing wall, sumo suit wrestling, bouncy castles and a bungee run.
Children could try a number of sports, including golf, tennis and archery, while staff from Rugby Art Gallery and Museum laid on a host of art and craft activities.
And staff from GLL, operators of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Centre, ran a number of competitions throughout the day, offering free swimming sessions to lucky winners.
The event attracted more than 700 visitors to Whitehall Recreation Ground.
Cllr Heather Timms, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for economy, development and culture, said: "National Play Day celebrates the great outdoors and the benefits of children enjoying a healthy lifestyle.
"The event also highlights the important role Rugby's parks and open spaces play in our communities, and I'm delighted so many youngsters attended and joined in the fun."
The annual National Play Day aims to highlight the importance of play in a child's development, and the need for places for children to play.
