Cllr Ramesh Srivastava visited Eastlands Primary School's end of year assembly to congratulate the pupils who created The Anti-Social Network.

The short film, which promotes internet safety and raises awareness of cyber-bullying, won the SCC Internet Safety and Cyber Bullying Project Award at the recent Community Education Awards.

The Anti-Social Network was created by the year five class at Eastlands, in collaboration with Jam-Av Media Production.

Filmed 'on location' at Warwick Crown Court, the courtroom drama outlines the case against a pupil accused of sending malicious messages to another pupil, and the impact it has on the victim when others become involved in the cyber-bullying.

Pupils took on all the lead roles in the film, which was funded by Eastlands Parents and Staff Association and Warwickshire Crimebeat.

The Community Education Awards were organised by the Police Community Clubs of Great Britain, whose spokesman Kevin Daly said: "We were astounded by the professionalism and level of detail involved in the production of the film.

"The courtroom scenes were fantastic and it was incredible to see how the hard work of the pupils had come to fruition with a widely acclaimed, excellent film."
