New Bilton has the appetite for a Big Day Out
RESIDENTS of a part of New Bilton can get their hands dirty this Sunday helping out with the borough's first ever community-led edible gardening project.

The launch activity day will be held at the Jubilee Recreation Ground, Bridle Road (off Jubilee Street), on Sunday 6 April from 1pm-4pm, and is part of the Big Day Out.
The New Bilton Community Association, which is leading the project, are inviting local residents, community groups, schools, voluntary organisations or keen gardeners to join them, with a free cream tea for everyone who volunteers on the day.
Planters have already been installed by Rugby Borough Council, and plants and training will be provided. Volunteers are asked to bring their wellies and a trowel if they have one.
The edible gardening project is supported by the Rugby Group Benevolent Fund. It will see the area become the first to organise and start a gardening project that all residents will be given the opportunity to tend the plants and help themselves to the produce.
OTHER Big Day Out events taking place on Sunday 6 April include a group walk at 11am, which will start and finish at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Centre, and an afternoon of family entertainment at Caldecott Park. This will include a bouncy castle and quad bikes for under 13s, and will run from noon until 6pm.
