Rise of the robots at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum

The free Nuts and Bolts Night takes place on Friday 23 May and celebrates Rugby's innovative engineering past, present and future.

Visitors can meet robot performer, Zios the Hydronoid, at the event, which includes a host of fun activities and workshops

The construction zone challenges budding builders to create with Lego and Meccano, while science clubs run by Imagineering give visitors the chance to send messages by Morse code and lift weights with a hydraulic arm.

The event also includes an introductory course to 3D printing, led by one of the country's leading training companies in the cutting-edge technology, Black Country Atelier.

Visitors can learn about the blossoming 3D printing industry, watch a printer in action and even have a go at 3D printing.

The Nuts and Bolts Night also includes sculptor Jim Bond's range of crazy drawing machines, performance poetry, and workshops where visitors can create robot masks and jet packs.

Visitors can also contribute to Art Lab's giant, machine-inspired collage during the evening.

The free Night At Your Museum runs from 5.30pm to 10pm.

Places on the 3D printing course - suitable for seven-year-olds and over - should be booked in advance by calling (01788) 533217 with a £1 charge payable on the night.

Visitors can also purchase a range of robot toys and refreshments at the event.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.
