Stand Together for Holocaust Memorial Day

Rugby Borough Council is marking Holocaust Memorial Day with an illuminated “Stand Together” banner displayed in the window of Rugby Town Hall.
27 January 2020

Stand Together is the logo for the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust’s 2020 commemoration.

Cllr Seb Lowe, Leader of Rugby Borough Council, said: “On the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp, this simple act of commemoration represents the unity of Rugby’s communities in standing together against genocide and hate.

“The holocaust and subsequent genocides all started with division, distrust and hatred.

By standing together we can remember our common humanity and make sure that our differences never again lead to genocide.

“I invite all of Rugby’s residents to join me in spending a few minutes today in quiet reflection, remembering the victims of the holocaust and their families.”
