The trophy will be at the hall of fame to commemorate the induction of five new hall of famers the previous day, and will be staying on to allow visitors to see it and take selfies.

The Hall of Fame will be open from 10am to 5pm, with last entry at 4pm. Entry will be free of charge.

Cllr Michael Stokes, Leader of Rugby Borough Council, said: “With five new legends of the game being inducted into the Hall of Fame I am looking forward to seeing the Webb Ellis Cup back in town and in the Hall of Fame for the first time.

Rugbeians are rightly proud of their heritage and the role of the town as the birthplace of the game, and I am pleased that residents and visitors will be able to see the trophy in the Hall of Fame this Saturday.”

The World Rugby Hall of Fame is located in the heart of Rugby town centre just a stone’s throw from where the game began back in 1823.
