World Cup's a Big Draw for Rugby Art Gallery and Museum
Saturday's free event aims to encourage residents to get creative and give drawing a try, with a host of activities inspired by the game of rugby.
Visitors can decorate rugby balls with artist Kate Morris, create rugby players from lollipop sticks and contribute to an animated film created with time-lapse photography.
Life drawing sessions offer the chance to draw rugby players in a variety of poses, while visitors can attend the Art Lab and design rugby balls on acetate before watching the results projected on to a wall.
With face painting and competitions running throughout the event, the Big Draw has plenty to entertain visitors of all ages from 10.30am to 3pm.
Cllr Heather Timms, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for economy, development and culture, said: "The annual Big Draw has become a firm favourite with visitors to Rugby Art Gallery and Museum and this year's event has a wide range of activities to celebrate the town's status as the Proud Home of the game.
"It's the perfect opportunity to visit the cultural hub of Rugby, get creative and enjoy the special atmosphere in town as we celebrate the Rugby World Cup."
The national Big Draw festival aims to encourage creativity regardless of age or artistic ability.
Rugby Art Gallery and Museum's Big Draw event in 2014 was 'highly commended' at the national Big Draw Awards.
