Apply for sheltered housing

If you're over 50, you can apply for the council's sheltered housing. However, we give preference to applicants aged 60 or above.

The council manages around 1,500 sheltered homes - the majority one-bedroom flats.

Rent and service charges

Rents in council sheltered housing range from an average of £80 a week for a council flat to an average of £100 a week for a bungalow.

In addition to rent, tenants at our sheltered housing will have to pay a service charge which covers additional services provided at sheltered housing schemes.
